Daughter of Russ by NachoMon Daughter of Russ by NachoMon
Another of my freak ideas for Space Wolves. It´s based on an old conversion I did many years ago. I love that valkyrie concept for an army based on viking imaginery.

Daughters of Russ are supposed to be keepers of Leman Russ relics on Space Wolves Fortress. They´re fenrisian women, trained and prepared to aid Space Wolves in decisive battles.

This is amazing. I sincerely wish there were more women in 40k especially since they haven't updated the SoB to plastic models and it's so damn expensive. This would also make a badass cosplay.

Yeah, I donŽt understand many of GW decissions abut the game universe line. I love the Sisters and the sleek gothic look they have and IŽd love to see some female warrior like this. A cosplay would be great, and IŽd feel really honored ^^

Actually, I'm working on Sisters armor right now- a friend of mine sent me a link to this drawing when she heard. If it turns out well I certainly know what I'd want to do next! It's a really great design!

Are they like a Sister of Battle coven or do they stand alone?

I imagined them as an special support force, AS the Wolves doesnŽt like so much to use jetpacks, they would be the fast attack commandos. Using a combination of melta-rifles, bolter, heavy bolter and fenrisian power axes.

Garm would make a good Shrine world for them.  With the Spear of Russ there it would fit pretty well lore wise.

Still love the originalness!

Would have to come from Fenris. If memory serves, they don't get along to well with the inquisition.

Hello there! Are you thinkng on making an entire army of converted sisters as Fenrisian Valkyries? I like the idea! Please send me some pics of finished minis!
My orginal idea was just an special unit to include on my Space Wolves army. IŽm looking forward for the future plastic sisters miniature set in order to do the conversions ^^

If they gave Fenrisian women the Canix Helix, the Space Wolves would be invincable!

I will be frank , when I read the title I something in me wanted to scream that Primarchs don't have children, but when I read description, I must say I feel stupid, because I kinda like idea, and I am suprised that Game Workshop didn't think of it, some sort of Vikking inspired, sisters of battle.

I warn anyone trying to make the modles of the Daughters of Russ now.
Don't! It's simply too expensive! Which is real a shame.
I shall explain why when i post the photos.

I am the freind of 06 davidson who is making these for his space wolves army. Good news just finshed the prototypes! Yipee!
I will post the photos soon and provide the instrutions how to make them. Be warned they are only protoypes, so they don't look fantastic and where expensive to make.

Ok, many thanks, man. IŽll be waitinŽ!

Yeah, these kind of transformation is really expensive to do, overall using the classic metal miniatures. I hope GW will release plastic multi-part kits for their nerxt SisterŽs updating and Codex.

You won't have to wait long!
Sisters of battle going to come out at the latest of mid 2012.
But I have been doing alot of reseach and I think they may come out either end of this year or start of 2012.
Oh and the exact cost was about Ł81 for a squad of 8.

Yeah, I love all that viking concept for Space Wolves background. I see the Fortress of Wolves in Fenris as a sort of valhalla, with giant stone statues of Russ bearing an huge axe, emerging among the ice.

becouse the space wolves are the sons of russ <.<; if there was a single women in that army, she still would be a son of russ, it dosnt make refrence to them being biologic sons of russ. its a title

Just a little side note, even though the last post was ages ago.

Vikings loosely followed a similar pantheon of gods that where based off of Norse Mythology. The Poetic and Prose Eddas are not from Germany, they where started further north. A very close mythology near Sweden is the Finnish Kalevala.

Though in keeping with the norse imagery. Female priestesses of the All Father being Norns. They are always in threes. A young maiden, a mother and a crone that tell of prophesies yet to come.

Also there are two types of Valkyrie. One that takes the heroic dead to Valhalla. And the other takes the dead to Freya's hall which I have trouble spellings. Those that go to Valhalla are buried with a sword. Those that go to Freya are buried with a shield. They serve different functions at the end of the world. The Einherjar form the army and Freya's host defends Midgard
